Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking, has released a Special Drive for Apprentice Trainee recruitment 2026-27 under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).
A total of 134 apprenticeship training slots are available for Engineering graduates, Diploma holders and General Stream graduates. The notification is dated 7 August 2026, and document verification will be held from 24 August to 28 August 2026 at Navi Mumbai.

Important Eligibility / Requirements
Candidates must meet the following basic conditions:
- Candidates must have passed the qualifying course during 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 or 2025.
- A valid and approved NATS ID is mandatory at the time of document verification.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible.
- Candidates must meet the prescribed physical fitness requirements.
- The apprenticeship training will be for one year.
- This training does not guarantee permanent employment in KRCL.

The qualification must be available on the date of document verification. Higher qualifications do not receive additional weightage over the prescribed minimum qualification.

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 25 years as on 1 January 2026.

Salary / Stipend
This is an apprenticeship training engagement, so candidates will receive a stipend rather than a regular employee salary.

The stipend is paid through the DBT mechanism. Candidates must have a bank account in their own name and a PAN card for receiving the stipend.
Selection Process
There is no written examination or interview mentioned for selection.
- A merit list will be prepared using the aggregate marks obtained in all years/semesters.
- No rounding off will be done.
- If candidates have equal marks, the older candidate gets preference.
- Land-loser candidates of the Konkan Railway Project receive first preference.
- Candidates from KRCL’s jurisdiction districts receive second preference.
